ArmorAll 2.5-Gallon Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum (AA255)

When I got the  Armor All 2.5-Gallon Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum, I didn’t know what to think about it at first. The unit I received was a small black and orange vac that I knew wasn’t going to be powerful enough for the home. Which also meant that it probably wasn’t going to make the top of the best wet dry vac list. However, what I didn’t anticipate was how great of a unit it would be for my vehicles.

This unit only has a 2.5-gallon tank and only weighs around 7-pounds, so it’s easy to take it around. It had an easy-open canister lid that allowed its contents to be emptied rather easily and also had a 6-foot long hose that was about 1.25-inches in diameter. Its power cord was about 10-feet long and the unit came with several accessories. The accessories it came with included a blower nozzle, detail brush, crevice tool, car tool, 2-in-1 utility nozzle, a cloth filter and a foam sleeve.

As I guessed, it’s 2-horsepower motor just wasn’t powerful enough to tackle big indoor messes. Sure, it could pick up cereal, spilled oatmeal or milk but if the mess was bigger than that, then it just couldn’t cut it. However, I did eventually find out that where it really shines is the interior of my cars.

On car carpets and seats, this wet/dry vac really did a great job. I was able to clean every single square inch of my car – even the mess I made when I dumped juice on my floorboards while I was cleaning! It sucked up the fruit juice and I was able to use a damp rag to get the rest out before it stained. I was also able to use the brushes on the vents of my car, getting them clean as well.

What I really liked about this vac was that it had a blower feature as well. This allowed me to blow out the crumbs between my car seats and my door – you know, the ones that normally can’t be reached with a vacuum. This allowed me to get the inside of my car pretty clean.

It really escapes me why this vacuum isn’t marketed exclusively as a device for cleaning out the inside of cars because that’s really where it does its best work. I think it’s a great unit for those of you looking for something to vacuum out your vehicle. For heavier jobs, I would recommend finding something else.
