Best Fabric Upholstery Cleaner Reviews of 2017

Carbona 2-In-1 Oxy-Powered Upholstery & Carpet Cleaner is an upholstery cleaner that is in a nifty looking 27.5-ounce bottle that has a scrub brush on top. I’ve heard many good things about this cleaner in the days before this review, so I decided to check it out. After all, I really wanted to find out if this product was all marketing and hype or if it was really one of the best upholstery cleaner products on the market today.

One of the things that I really like about this product is that it has a scrub brush that can be mounted on top of it. This scrub brush really does a good job of getting the cleaning solution down into the stain. However, this brush helps with cleaning up messes, it isn’t designed as well as it should be. You have to be careful not to remove the foil when you attach it, so be sure to follow all directions. If you don’t, then the product’s lid could leak in between cleanings—which is what happened to me as I used it over the course of a week.

As far as the types of fabrics you can use this product on, I found out that you can pretty much use it on any fabric that you could clean with any water-based cleaner. Many sofas have a rating that shows how you can clean them. You can safely use this product on “W” coded sofas but not on “S” coded sofas (that’s dry clean only).

All things considered, I think this is a really great upholstery cleaner as long as you use it on the right fabrics. It’s powerful and gets the job done. If you aren’t sure if it can be used on a particular fabric, then be sure to spot test a small corner of it. Do that and I think you’ll like this cleaner.

Tuff Stuff Multi-Purpose Foam Cleaner is an aerosol cleaner that produces sort of a foaming action to power away dirt and stains. At least, that’s the theory behind it. So I did a review to see just how well it cleaned some of the upholstery around my home. Here is what I found out.

Tuff Stuff comes in a 22-ounce can that is used in much the same way as oven cleaners are used. It’s sprayed onto the stain and then you use a scrub brush to scrub it out. It’s supposed to be made to clean fabric, carpet, and vinyl, so those are the products I used it on the most. Although I have to be honest and tell you I couldn’t resist trying it out on a few other things as well.

The first thing I used it on was my sofa. There was a coffee stain ring left on the arm by my husband that I wanted to clean. Since my sofa had an “S” rating, I went ahead and tried it out. Much to my surprise, this product lifted the coffee stain from it. I must say, I was a bit impressed.

I then tried it on a variety of other fabrics. I cleaned red wine out of my area rug; dirt from the vinyl armrest of my car; and my vehicle’s floor mats. In each instance, it did a marvelous job. It even cleaned my bathroom tiles, which I couldn’t resist giving a once-over with this product. It just cleans very well.

Of course, you should always be careful what you use any cleaning product on because it’s not suitable for all fabrics. A small precaution to take in order to use one of the best upholstery cleaner solutions on the market today.

Resolve Spot+Stain Multi-Fabric Upholstery Cleaner comes in a 22-ounce spray bottle and is intended to clean a number of different fabrics and to refresh them as well. It’s also a product that’s supposed to be suitable for polyester, cotton blends, and nylon. Of course, the only real way to find out if it is suitable for these applications is to put it to the test.

During the course of this review, I used it for a number of different cleaning jobs. I used it on my sofa, on my carpet, and in my car. And in each of these cases, it did a fairly good job. It removed grape soda from my sofa; it removed spilled tea from my carpet and it removed some dirt from my floor mats. Unfortunately, while it did a good job, for the most part, it stumbled on a few cleaning jobs.

I had some problems getting some vegetable oil out of my cotton tablecloth. And not just a little problem but a pretty big one. I had to use several applications of this product just to remove the stain. A pattern I noticed with several other bigger stains I used this product on. I also couldn’t use this product on a number of different fabrics which included leather, silk, velvet, and vinyl. This product is just not designed for these fabrics.

Overall, I think this is a great product but I don’t think it’s the best upholstery cleaner that you can find. However, if you use it on the right fabrics and aren’t afraid of using it several times for heavy stains, then this might be a product to check out. It’s inexpensive and gets the job done in many different instances.

Blue Coral Dri-Clean Plus W/ Odor Eliminator is an upholstery cleaner that comes in a blue can with a scrub brush cap and contains 22.8 ounces of cleaning solution. It’s a product that’s supposed to be able to tackle everything from lipstick and coffee to blood and tar, so I ordered it and put it to the test.

While I didn’t test it on blood stains during my review, I did test it on a number of different fabrics all around my home. I used it to clean a lipstick stain out of one of my recliners; I took it out to the garage and used it on my car’s upholstery and mats and I used it on an area rug. In all of those instances, it did a marvelous job at cleaning the fabrics. It removed lipstick, red wine, and even my pet stains. When I took it out to the car, it did a marvelous job on my upholstery as well. All in all, it’s a nicely rounded cleaner in my opinion. Sure, you wouldn’t want to use it on leather, silk, velvet or any other delicate fabric but it does work well on polyester, blended cotton, and nylon.

It’s a product that should contend with other cleaners I’ve tested in the past but doesn’t because it’s a little on the expensive side. In conclusion, I think this is a great cleaner – particularly for automotive applications and I would definitely recommend it. It’s pretty good.

Scotchgard Fabric & Carpet Cleaner is a 14-ounce can of cleaner that I heard was good for sofa cleaning, as well as cleaning several different types of fabric. And in its wake, it’s also supposed to leave behind Scotchgard protection to protect the surface from future stains. Let’s see how well it works and if it can tackle some of the cleaning chores I have lined up for it.

The first thing that caught my attention about this product was that it was only a 14-ounce can – which made it quite expensive for what I paid for it. However, I was determined to see how good of a cleaner it was, so I pressed on to see what it could do.

I noticed that it had a nice foaming action that looked like it could really get to the bottom of a stain. And in most instances, it did just that. However, there were a few cleaning projects in which it didn’t do as good of a job as I had wanted.

One of those was cleaning up grape juice from my area rug. It required several different applications before I was able to successfully remove the stain. I had to use a lot more elbow grease than I would have liked with this product. On the other hand – I did notice that it really did leave Scotchgard behind because the next time I cleaned the same spot it was easier to clean off.

All things taken into consideration, I think this is a decent cleaner that’s not quite a good or great cleaner. Which is a shame because I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, it just couldn’t get the job done without easily.
