Best Mcculloch Steam Cleaner Reviews of 2017

I’m always a fan of any steam machine that has the words heavy-duty right in its name, so it really shouldn’t be a surprise that I ended up becoming a fan of the McCulloch MC1275 Heavy-Duty Steam Cleaner. However, it’s not just the name of this McCulloch steam cleaner that impressed. No, I was also pretty smitten with its performance. Let me show you what I like about this machine.

When I first received it I realized that it wasn’t going to take a whole lot of time and effort to get this thing up and running. In just a few minutes, I had it all together and ready to go. I then proceeded to take a look at some of the accessories that came with it.

This machine comes with 18 accessories. This includes a mop head, a jet nozzle, a couple of brushes (brass and nylon), a triangular brush, a couple of mop pads and a fill cup. However, what it didn’t come with was a funnel – and that’s what I could’ve really used while I was adding water to this device. I managed to get the cleaner filled, although I was kind of sloppy about it. Yes, I definitely wish they would’ve included a funnel in their collection of accessories. Oh well, what can you do?

It took about ten minutes for this unit to bring the 48-ounces of water in its tank up to temperature. When it was completely hot and pressurized, I then took it for a little cleaning tour of my house to see just how well this unit cleans. And let me tell you, that’s where it really shined.

I took it into the bathroom and cleaned my shower door. I then turned it to the tiles and grout in my bathroom. Wow, did this machine really clean those areas up well. After I was done with those jobs, I then took it to the kitchen and cleaned my greasy oven racks. Right before my eyes, this machine powered though that grease.

I was so impressed with this unit that I decided to go ahead and take it outside. I cleaned my BBQ grill and then cleaned my husband’s truck. I steamed the engine block and even did the carpets inside the truck. This steam cleaner really does perform well.

Overall, I think I got about 45-minutes of steam cleaning out of this cleaner. I then had to let it cool down a bit before I could refill it. However, that’s not a problem because this machine really powered through the messes, so I got a whole lot done during those forty-five minutes of cleaning.

This steam cleaner is a great little canister that could handle a variety of different tasks. And while it isn’t the cheapest steamer I’ve bought, I also thought that it wasn’t too expensive either. To say that I think this is a great canister steam cleaner is an understatement. I would gladly recommend friends and family to buy it.

The  McCulloch MC1375 Canister Steam System might look small and cuddly, but let me assure you it is not only cute but is also quite powerful. Over the past few months, I’ve familiarized myself with a variety of steam machines – many of them McCulloch steam cleaner units – but I gotta say that this one has a special place in my heart. Let me take you through the things I like about this machine and the things I don’t like. We’ll take the positives and the negatives as we go. Sound good?

After a very simple assembly process, I spent some time looking over the accessories that came with it. That’s usually what I do before I try out any steam cleaner, just so I can get a feel for what it might be good for. I noticed this particular model came with twenty accessories. Some of these accessories were a brass brush, a nylon brush, a couple of round scrub pads, extension wands, a triangular brush and a fill cup. Unfortunately, like its brother the MC1275, this model didn’t come with a funnel. Sure, I have my own to use but that’s not the point. This model should’ve come with a funnel.

Anyway, after I examined the accessories and was exasperated by the lack of a funnel, I decided to fill it up and then get it started. It took about 12-minutes to heat up and once it was completely heated, it provided a great deal a pressure. It provided about 4-bars of pressure or about 58 psi. Which is quite a lot of steam as many other steam cleaners only produce about 40-45 psi of steam.

It just doesn’t produce a whole lot of pressurized steam either. It’s steam that you can easily control using the variable control system. If you need a whole lot of steam, crank it up. If you need less steam, you can put it back down. Easy peasy pumpkin pie!

With its intense pressurized steam, this unit really powered through a lot of projects. I used it to clean tile & grout, to clean my BBQ and stove racks, cleaned the engine block to my car and even steamed through an oily mess on the floor of my garage. This unit really has some power and it provides about 90-minutes of steam – enough to complete just about any job.

And it did all of that work without a problem. Okay, well, it did have one problem. I noticed that occasionally it would spit water while it was steaming. It wouldn’t do it every single time, but it did do it a couple of times.

In conclusion, I think this is a great canister steam cleaner. It was easy-to-use, produced a lot of high-pressure steam and did every job I asked it to do. You just can’t ask for much more from a canister steamer – except for maybe a funnel.

Canister steam cleaners often have a number of things going for them, especially McCulloch steam cleaner units. Which is why I was so excited to test out the McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe Canister Steam System. This particular product has a number of positives, but unfortunately, it also has some negatives I didn’t care for, so let’s dig down and see if this machine is worth its weight in steam.

Something that definitely goes in the positive category is the number of accessories this machine comes with. It comes with a pretty large number of them, 23 to be precise and these attachments really helped this steam cleaner to accomplish a variety of cleaning tasks. Some of the accessories it comes with include an angled nozzle, a jet nozzle, a variety of brushes, a scraper, mop head, a squeegee, scrubbing mop pads and extension wands. Just about anything you need to clean various parts of your home and car.

I added 64-ounces of water to the unit and it took about 15 minutes to heat up. I was then able to use it on a number of different cleaning projects. Not only did I clean my BBQ grill – which it cleaned flawlessly – but I also used it to remove some of the grime ground down into my bathroom tile grout.

I then used it to mop some of my floors. In my house, I have a variety of different types of floors that make it really handy for me to do these reviews. Some of my upstairs bedrooms have carpet, there’s concrete flooring in my garage, linoleum in my basement and various types of tile for my bathroom and kitchen. So, as you can see, I can try out steam cleaners on a number of different surfaces. Which I did with this unit.

I used it on all of my floors, except for my carpets, and noticed that it did a real bang-up job. Any stain or dirt it would just steam away. I was so impressed by it that I decided to use it to tackle some of the soap scum that had built up in my soap dish. It’s high-pressure steam just about melted the scum and helped me clean it away.

One thing to remember about this unit, however, is not only is the steam coming out of it pressurized but it is also hot. I think it’s about two hundred degrees, so you really have to be careful. Which brings me to one of the things that disappointed me about this system. The hose gets really warm when you are using it for an extended period of time. Warm enough to be uncomfortable. I think that’s because the hose isn’t properly insulated. At least, that’s my opinion.

However, this unit has one really big positive that really makes it stand out. It can deliver 120-minutes of steam! Yes, that’s right. This unit can be used for 2-hours before you have to refill it. Of course, after using it for that long, you are also going to have to let it cool down a bit. But still, that’s about 2-hours of cleaning. And in that amount of time, you can get a whole lot of cleaning done.

Overall, I think this is a great unit. Sure, it has a couple of drawbacks, but I don’t think any of them prevents this unit from being one of the top canister steam cleaners on the market today. It’s pretty much a beast.

The McCulloch MC1255 Wallpaper Remover and Steam Cleaner is a machine that looks like it would really appeal to men. It’s shaped kind of like a drill or screw gun, but believe me, this is a McCulloch steam cleaner; A model that’s designed for all kinds of cleaning, as well as wallpaper removal. Let’s test this unit out and see just how well it does its job.

It’s about 11-inches tall, 7.48-inches long and about 3.94-inches wide. It also weighs under 3-pounds – or about 2.87 pounds to be exact. That means that it’s not only lightweight but that it’s compact and very easy to carry from one part of your house to the next. And believe me when I tell you that’s always a good thing.

Another thing I noticed about this handheld was that it not only had variable steam control but it also had a trigger that you can pull to blast steam. However, one thing that you have to remember about this unit is that the steam is a lower pressure than most other handheld steam units. That’s because high-pressure steam can damage the sheet rock under the wallpaper, so actually, a lower pressure steamer is better for wallpaper removal. If you need high pressure, then this isn’t the model of handheld you should be looking at. But if you’re removing wallpaper, then this is the model you are going to want to examine.

This machine also comes with some accessories that enhance its utility. This includes utility brushes, an angled nozzle, a jet nozzle and a wallpaper removal plate. All of these accessories were high quality and worked the way they were supposed to work. Another thing I liked about this handheld steam cleaner was that it also had a long power cord. It’s power cord is over 16-feet long—that’s really helpful for getting to those hard-to-reach areas.

I filled it with about 10-ounces of water and let it heat up. In about 30-seconds it was heated up and ready to be used. I then proceeded to clean a number of things in my home. I cleaned the mirrors in my bathroom, my shower door and some tiles. I also used it to remove the wallpaper in my bedroom closet. It performed all of these tasks quite well.

The one thing to remember about this unit is that it doesn’t have the power for really tough jobs. However, it is perfect for wallpaper removal and light cleaning. It’s just not designed for those really tough jobs. If you use it for its intended purpose, then you’ll probably be pretty happy with this well-designed and convenient hand-held steam cleaner. I know I was.

If you’re looking for a McCulloch steam cleaner that’s handheld, portable and can handle a variety of different jobs, then you might want to take a look at the McCulloch MC1230 Handheld Steam Cleaner. This machine is just under 8-inches high, just over 10-inches deep and about 5-inches wide, and also only weighs about 3-pounds. Just about the right size to take it all over your home to accomplish a variety of different jobs. From the basement to the attic and everywhere in between. Now, let’s see how well it handles those particular jobs, shall we?

The first thing I noticed about this black and yellow steamer was that it came with a number of different accessories which included a jet nozzle, triangular brush, a large brush, an extension hose, nylon and brass brushes, a scrub pad, a scraper and a funnel. This unit also has a 15-foot power cord, which gives you a little additional reach. It looks like just about everything you would need to get a number of different jobs done.

Once I got everything sorted out, I then decided to fill this unit up with water and see how well it performs. So I added 6-ounces of water to it and waited the 3-minutes it took to heat up. Once it was ready to go, I then took it around my home to accomplish a couple of jobs.

I used it to clean my tile & grout, to remove soap scum from my shower walls, to clean off some grease from the top of my stove and to clean up my grill so I could put it away for the fall. And in each instance, this steamer did a great job. It produced nice hot pressurized steam that really did a good job cleaning. Unfortunately, the amount of time it produced steam was severely limited.

I was quite disappointed to realize that this handheld steamer only provided about 10-minutes of steam. Yes, I know that handhelds produce steam for a shorter period of time than larger steam cleaners, but most handhelds usually can produce at least 20-minutes of steam. The 10-minutes was just too short. Which is really a shame because I had high hopes for this particular model of handheld steamer.

So what have we learned about the MC1230 steam cleaner? Well, it’s portable, heats up quickly and produces some hot, high-pressure steam. Unfortunately, it will have to be refilled frequently due to its low steam time.
