This cleaner really does do a good job. My only complaints are that it is a bit loud, doesn't have a long enough power cord and is a bit pricey.

It's not the most inexpensive, the lightest or the fanciest, but it does do a good job at cleaning up stains out of upholstery and carpeting.

When I first saw the BISSELL Spot Clean Professional 3624, I didn’t know what to think about it. It was a small unit that sort of looked like a helmet with a hose on it. However, once I started using it, I realized that while it may be sort of funny looking, it does an amazing job spot cleaning my carpets and upholstery.

One of the first things I noticed about this unit was that it had a 22-foot power cord – long than most of the other portable carpet cleaners I’ve seen so far. This really allowed me to reach every single corner of my house that I needed to reach. This is important to me because, as you may know from my other reviews, some of my outlets are located in odd locations.

The next thing that I noticed about this BISSELL was that it weighed a little over 13-pounds and had a nice carrying handle. This made it easy for me to take from place to place. I also liked the fact that the tanks, both clean and dirty water, had handles on them that allowed me to carry them to the sink to be either filled or emptied. And since these tanks had flat bottoms, I could just set them on the floor or the counter. And speaking of the tank, it could hold a lot of water – just about 3/4th of a gallon. That means that I could spend more time cleaner and less time filling up the tanks. Which is really a blessing.

As far as cleaning goes, I really do have to say that this is the best portable carpet cleaner. At least, it’s the best one among the non-steam cleaners. After all, this unit doesn’t use steam – it uses a combination of water and solution to get the job done. However, that seemed to be enough to pick up the stains I had on my carpet and on my couch.

I had a coffee stain in the corner of my bedroom, by my dresser, that evidently was left by my husband because I don’t drink coffee in our room, so I really don’t know how long it has been there. But evidently, that didn’t matter because the Spot Clean Professional 3624 cleaned it up with no problems whatsoever. It also did a pretty good job cleaning some dirt out of my sofa and love seat. It just powered right through it leaving those surfaces not only cleaner but smelling nice as well.

Of course, no piece of equipment is without its flaws – at least, not in my experience, and that was the case with this unit as well. As I used it I noticed that it was extremely loud. A lot louder than I felt that it should’ve been.

Overall, I think that while this unit may be loud, it’s still one of the best spot carpet cleaners on the market today and I would definitely recommend it.

The BISSELL Multi-Purpose Portable Carpet Cleaner 1400B is not only a carpet cleaner that is a little green as far as its color but is also green in the sense that it’s environmentally friendly. It’s a unit that’s engineered with sustainable design elements which include PVC-free tanks and hose and a design that incorporates a high percentage of post-consumer recycled plastic. I liked the idea of having a carpet cleaner that was environmentally friendly, so I hurried up and got this unit to see just how well it performed around my home.

When I first received this unit, the first thing that I noticed is that it was about 9-inches by 18-inches by 13-inches and weighed approximately a little under 10-pounds or so. I also noticed that it had a power cord that was only about 15-feet long – which was a bit of a disappointment and means that I will be using it with an extension cord to handle some spots on my carpet that are hard to reach.

The next thing I did was to fill up its 48-ounce tank and get to work cleaning a few messes I had around the house. One of the first messes I tackled was some juice that my niece had dribbled on my couch. A nice big purple stain courtesy of her grape juice. It was a stain I wasn’t sure I was going to get out but thanks to the 1400B, I powered right through it.

After it successfully tackled that stain, I decided to try it out on a “pet stain” that my dog had left on my area rug in my dining room. While it did take a couple of passes to clean it up, it eventually did get it out. Which is funny because I never figured this unit would be a good carpet cleaner for pet stains, but that did turn out to be the case. I found that surprising because this is a traditional spot cleaner and not steam powered. The water isn’t even heated in this unit but it still did a great job.

I tried it out on a few other projects around my house and noticed that in each case this carpet cleaner really did a great job. I was pretty happy with it and then I noticed a big problem with this unit. A design flaw that I just couldn’t ignore and cause me a bit of a problem.

I noticed that dirt gathered on top of the brush, under the plastic. Unfortunately, the plastic guard doesn’t come off, so it was really hard for me to clean this part of the brush. And it’s for that reason I had to knock off points off of what is ordinarily a pretty good cleaner.

While it’s difficult to clean under the plastic guard on top of the brush, I did feel that overall this spot carpet cleaner is a good one and has a few things going for it. Namely, it’s cleaning power and its lower cost.

The BISSELL SpotBot Pet Spot & Stain Cleaner 33N8A is a spot carpet cleaner that I’ve been looking forward to reviewing for quite some time. That’s because it’s a unit that’s automated to some extent. You can just place it over the stain, press a few buttons and let it do all the cleaning for you. Or at least, that’s what the commercials say. In order to find out whether or not that is actually the case I had to order my own and put it through some tests – which is precisely what I did.

And the first thing I want to say about this carpet cleaner is that it is not an inexpensive model. Of all of the conventional carpet spot cleaners, this one was one of the most expensive of them. Of course, when the unit came, I could see what it cost more than some other units. It’s not only high quality but also has some technological features built into it.

After filling its 32-ounce tank, I put it to work on a couple of stains around the house. One of the stains I had to manufacture because I had been using quite a few other carpet cleaners on my floors over the past few weeks and was beginning to run out of stains to clean up. The other one came courtesy of my dog, who must know I’m testing cleaners because he’s been leaving me

The “manufactured” stain I cleaned was a cup ring I made with tea. I had actually let it sit in one of my old area rugs for about a week before I used this unit on it. I placed this cleaner on the stain, set it to set-in stain and let the unit go to work. It’s computer decided how long to scrub the stain and I was actually surprised that it did such a good job. All without me having to stand over it.

The urine stain my dog provided me was fresh, so I set my unit to surface-stain and let it go to work. It cleaned it right up. It really is the best carpet cleaner for pet stains—at least among the non-steam driven machines. It cleaned it right up. The BISSELL SpotBot 33N8A also has a 5-foot hose that works quite well, too. I was able to use it on my stairs and I think it did a pretty good job.

This cleaner really does do a good job. My only complaints are that it is a bit loud, doesn’t have a long enough power cord and is a bit pricey. However, I also have to give it credit. It does a good job, especially with pet stains.

I’m always on the lookout for a good portable carpet cleaner, so I was pretty happy to stumble across the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner. I almost couldn’t wait to give it a spin, but unfortunately, I had to wait as I was busy testing another cleaner. However, as soon as I got the opportunity, I got one of these units and gave it a test spin.

Although it is kind of on the higher end of the pricing spectrum, it isn’t the most expensive unit on the market – which was a relief to my pocket book. When I received it, I noticed that it had a 15-foot power cord, had a 64-ounce tank, had a 5.5-foot cleaning hose and weighed around 15-pounds. And you would think from those specs that this unit would be bulky and hard to use. However, I didn’t really find that to be the case.

Thanks to its telescoping handle and its wheels, it was pretty easy to move from room to room. Sure, I would have liked to have had a longer power cord – at least 5 more feet – this unit was still fairly easy to move around. And since it had a larger than normal tank, it was easier to use than some models because I didn’t have to refill it so frequently.

The only real problems I had with this unit was that 1) it was loud, 2) its power cord was sort of short and 3) the sprayer kind of leaked at times. While one and two are self-explanatory, number three is not, so I’ll explain what I mean to you.

I noticed that after using it, once I turned the sprayer to a different angle it would dribble water. It was massive leaking but it was definitely something that I just had to mention. Of course, it may be just how I was using it because I have noticed that not many people mention this defect in their personal reviews of this product.

One of the things I really like about this carpet cleaner is it’s motorized brush. It really lessens the amount of elbow grease I have to do while I am cleaning. And anything that lessens my workload gets an additional point from me.

Overall, I think that the Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner is a good carpet cleaner. It’s not the most inexpensive, the lightest or the fanciest, but it does do a good job at cleaning up stains out of upholstery and carpeting.
