Best Wet Mop Reviews of 2017

The 18″ Professional Microfiber Mop with Stainless Steel Handle is a mop that really looks like it can do a good job on any type of floor – which is why I decided to test it out and see if it really is the best floor mop. And after having reviewing it, I have to say that it really is one of the best I’ve used.

When I received it, I noticed that it came with 2 microfiber wet pads and a microfiber dust mop pad. And the pads locked onto the mop head in a very unique way. The heads just kind of attached to the head and you’re ready to go. All without having to snap it on or use fasteners.

One of the first things I’ve noticed about it was that it had an aluminum handle that just felt sturdy. Sure, it was a bit heavy, but I think that’s an advantage when it comes to floor mopping. After all, it provides more pressure to really bear down on messes I may have on my linoleum, vinyl or tile floors. However, this handle was also adjustable up to almost 6-feet, so I imagine for taller folks it would be easier to use.

I also liked the fact that it had an 18-inch head that really cleaned a large swath of the floor at one time. As I mopped, I noticed that I could bring the handle just about perpendicular to the floor, which made it easier to get under counters and my kitchen table.

This mop just did an excellent job with all of my floor surfaces. It cleaned my sealed wood floors, my tile ones, my linoleum and my vinyl. It handled both light messes and heavy messes with equal ease, as well. All things considered, I think this is the best mop I’ve used – at least, up until this point in time.

The  LINKYO Microfiber Floor Mop is a nice looking mop that comes with 2 reversible microfiber cleaning cloths and 1 standard microfiber pad. It’s also a mop that looks like it means business. It really looks like it can do a great job with the floors in my home. However, as you may know, looks can be deceiving, so the only real way to tell if this mop is the best floor mop is to take it out for a spin. Which is exactly what I did in this review.

One of the first things to catch my eye is that with the adjustable extension piece that came with it, I was able to extend the reach of this mop from 53-inches all the way to 69-inches. Which is not only the perfect size for me but would also be a great size for people are a little taller than me and closer to average size.

Another thing that I really liked about this mop is that it was constructed using aluminum. This makes it lightweight but also makes it feel pretty sturdy. I like that in a mop. After all, I tend to be hard on all of my cleaning implements, so I expect them to be sturdy.

The next thing I noticed is that while the mop head isn’t really big, it’s still a decent size to get the job done. The mop head was about 14.75-inches and the pads were secured to it using durable ABS plastic clips that really held it in place well.

Of course, things aren’t always as perfect as you’d like them to be and such was the case with this mop as well. It had one flaw I really didn’t like. I noticed that as I used it, some of the adjustable handle connectors worked loose. I’m not sure if that’s a design flaw or if it was my fault, but it’s still something that happened.

Overall, I think this mop did a really good job on all my floors. It was one of the best hardwood floor mop units I’ve used and it also did a pretty good job on all of the rest of my floors. It’s definitely a mop worth checking out.

The Dredge Professional Microfiber Mop is a mop that many people were saying was the best mop for hardwood floors, as well as a variety of other floor surfaces. Of course, talk is always cheap, so I decided to get one of these mops and see if it was as good as people were claiming it was. Here is my critique of it.

The first thing that caught my attention was that it was sort of a “kit.” What I mean by that is that it came with the mop handle with mop head, two microfiber pads and a dry electrostatic pad for dusting and such. It looks like just about everything a person would need to start their cleaning – which is exactly what I started doing with it.

One of the things I really like about this mop is its telescopic handle. It could be increased from 29-inches to 61-inches fairly easily. I also liked how this mop felt. The handle felt very good in my hand and the whole thing was fairly lightweight.

The first surface I tried it on was my sealed hardwood floors. And I do have to say it did a great job. It cleaned them up very well. It also did a great job on my vinyl, linoleum and tile floors. On all of these surfaces, it performed above and beyond my expectations.

So why isn’t this mop rated the best of them all? There are 2 reasons why it didn’t rate as high as some other mops on my list. One, it doesn’t have the reach other mops have and two, it’s a little higher priced than comparable mops. All of this contributed to its score.

However, don’t get me wrong, just because it isn’t the top mop of all time, I still think it’s a great mop that does a good job on a variety of different surfaces. It’s a great mop, it’s just not the best.

The O-Cedar Easy-Wring Microfiber Spin Mop Floor Cleaning System is not just a mop but a whole cleaning system, as you can probably tell by its name. It was also a cleaning tool I couldn’t wait to get my hands on, so as soon as I could I got one and put it through its proverbial paces. The following is a review of what I discovered about it.

The first thing I want to comment about this system is that it was not only funny looking, at least to me, but it was also kind of weird using it. It has a spinning wringer in the mop bucket that you can place the mop in and get it to spin by depressing a pedal with your foot. However, as odd as it was to use, I do have to say that I really appreciated never having to use my hands to come in contact with the dirty mop water.

The odd shape of the mop head also allowed me to get into the corners of my room very easily. It also did a great job cleaning all of my floors – including my sealed hardwood, tile, linoleum and vinyl floors. It did all of these surfaces impressively. In fact, it did such a good job, I was tempted to rate it higher and I would’ve, if it didn’t have one big flaw – it’s handle is just too short.

Its handle is only about 51-inches long, which is just a little bit short than I would’ve liked. And I imagine that because of this short length, a lot of people will be stooping over while they are mopping. Not a good scenario by any means. It’s also priced a little higher than comparable mops, but I think I could’ve been okay with that if the handle was just a little longer.

Overall, this is one of the best spin mop systems on the market today. And it could’ve competed for one of the best overall mops if it just didn’t have those 2 minor flaws.

This Aluminum Alloy Microfiber Mop was a mop that flew underneath my radar for a little while before I noticed that I was hearing some pretty good word of mouth about it, so I decided to get one and see just how well it worked. Fortunately, it worked out pretty well for me.

When I received this product, the first thing I noticed was that it had a pretty sturdy looking mop head and handle made out of aluminum allow. And while it felt nice and sturdy, it wasn’t very heavy. Sure, it wasn’t the most lightweight mop I’ve used but it most certainly wasn’t the heaviest either.

The next thing that caught my attention was the mop handle was adjustable – which is always a good thing. I could adjust it from 35-inches all the way to 60-inches. While this isn’t the longest reaching mop I’ve used, it was above average for most mops.

What was above average, however, was how it cleaned tile floors. I really have to say that I think that this mop was the best mop for tile floors I’ve used in quite some time. Thanks to its 360-degree mop head and its scrub brushes it did a great job on my tile floor.

Unfortunately, its stellar tile floor cleaning was counteracted by less than average wood floor cleaning. And the reason it didn’t fare so well on wood floors is because of its pads. I didn’t want to use the scrub pads on my sealed wood floors and the regular pads were kind of thin to do an effective job – at least, in my opinion.

All things considered, I think this mop is one that did a great job on my tile floors and a less than average job on my wood and linoleum floors. It has a few great features going for it, but it just has the problem of being kind of average when it comes to cleaning. And that’s not a good problem for a mop to have.

The O-Cedar Hardwood Floor Microfiber Mop is a mop with a rectangular head and a telescopic handle that’s supposed to do a really good job on wood floors, so I got one of my own and put it through its paces. After all, the only way to find out if this is the best mop for hardwood floors is to test it – which is precisely what I did.

The first thing I noticed about this mop was that its handle extended to approximately 56-inches in length. While that’s not super short for a mop, it is shorter than I would’ve liked. It worked alright for me but I imagine that if you’re just a little taller than average, then you might have to do a bit of stooping with this mop. A longer mop handle is almost always preferable.

However, its handle length was my only complaint with this mop. I thought that it was a good value, was lightweight and did a good job cleaning all my floors. Yes, it cleaned my vinyl, tile and linoleum floors without any problem and it did a really good job on my hardwood floors.

Of course, I do think that it could’ve come with more than one cloth, but maybe I’m being a bit picky. After all, the mop cloth it came with is supposed to last for over 100 wash cycles. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to test that out.

All things considered, I think that this mop is not only good for cleaning wood floors but is also good for cleaning a variety of surfaces. It might not be the very best mop on the market but it’s still a good buy.

The O-Cedar Ultra Max Microfiber Flat Mop & Bucket Kit is a mop and bucket system that attempts to make it easier for you to mop your floors. And while there were some things I really liked about this system, there were, unfortunately, a few things that kind of put me off. So let’s delve into the things that I really like about this mop and bucket set and the things I really didn’t like.

The very first thing that I noticed about the mop was that the handle was shorter than I thought it would be. It was only about 50-inches long – which was okay for me to use for my regular chores but didn’t really give me a whole lot of reach. Not the kind of reach I’m used to at least. The mop was also fairly light, which would’ve made it easy to use if the mop worked in the way it was designed.

My biggest complaint is how you have to use the mop to wring it out. You have to step on a lever while simultaneously pulling the handle up to get the mop head to fold up. Then once it’s folded up, you can place it in the wringer and it’s there you can wring out the water. Unfortunately, the system didn’t work for me as well as I would’ve liked. I had problems pressing it with my foot, so I would often have to use my hand to press the lever so I could fold it up to wring it out. Which defeats the whole point of the system. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think this mop was designed as well as it could’ve been and this added to my cleaning time.

As far as cleaning goes, however, I thought it did a great job. It cleaned my sealed hardwood floors, my linoleum, and my vinyl floors. While it might not be the best mop for tile floors, I still think that it did more than a decent job. Only a few design flaws kept this from becoming a really awesome mop set and that’s just a pity.

The Swiffer Wet Jet Hardwood and Floor Spray Mop Cleaner Starter Kit is a starting kit that I received that came with a Swiffer mop, some mopping pad refills, cleaning solution and 4 AA batteries. Yes, you read that correctly, this unit uses batteries. Now let’s see how well it cleans.

Putting this Swiffer together was fairly easy. You just have to put together the poles, insert the batteries, put on the pad and insert the cleaning solution. One of the first things I noticed about this particular model was that the way the pads fit on it was changed from previous models. With other models, you have to snap the ends of the pad into the holes. With this one, however, it just fits on the mop head. It’s a better design and that’s for sure.

As far as cleaning goes, this mop does a decent job – as long as the mess isn’t too big. If you’re just using it for light day-to-day cleaning, then this mop does a stellar job. It picks up dust and leaves the floor looking all shiny. As far as it shooting out cleaning spray, it felt more like a gimmick to me than a practical application. And unfortunately, this unit is just not durable enough to handle any real big messes and that’s just a shame. I was hoping for more out of it.

I also wasn’t fond of having to keep batteries in my mop. Since you’re not supposed to leave batteries in a device long term, this means that I have to remove and reinsert the batteries every time I use it. I don’t like that idea at all.

All in all, it’s a reasonably priced mop and does a decent job with light cleaning. If it’s used for light day-to-day cleaning, I think it would be a decent unit. I just wouldn’t trust it for anything heavier.

The Rubbermaid Reveal Spray Mop Kit is a mop kit that comes with the spray mop, 2 refill bottles, and 3 cleaning pads. Everything you could possibly need to clean the floors around your house. Which only leaves one question to answer. How well of a job does this mop do? Well, I decided to test it out to answer that very question.

The first thing I noticed about it was that it had a pretty decent sized handle. It was approximately 57-inches long, which gave me a decent amount of reach while I was cleaning. Sure, it isn’t as long as some mops but I feel that it is more than in the acceptable handle length range.

The next thing I noticed is that this unit did a pretty good job of spraying cleaning solution out in front of the mop but it did so without having to use batteries. Just by squeezing the trigger you can pump an adequate amount of cleaning solution in front of you.

And all of this contributed to a pretty good mopping experience. I felt that this mop did a pretty good job with getting all of my floors clean. It cleaned all of them pretty well. So my problem isn’t with the result but really the cost of this unit. For what it delivered, I felt that it was a tad bit expensive. In fact, I think that there are several other mops that can do a better job than this unit but aren’t as expensive.

Overall, I think that if it wasn’t for its cost, it would be a pretty good mop. Sure, it would never be the best mop out there but it could’ve been a good middle of the pack unit if it cost just a little bit less.
