As a pet owner, I’m constantly on the lookout for a carpet cleaner that will make short work out of all my pet messes – whether it’s pulling dirt from the carpet, picking up hair or removing unpleasant pet odors. And sometimes my search leads me towards some interesting machines like the BISSELL 1986 Pro Heat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner.
When I received this unit I noticed that it was pretty lightweight – around 20 pounds or so – which really made it easy to use. I also noticed that it really did do a fantastic job on my carpets. It not only managed to lift out dirt and dog hair, but it also managed to remove some of those pet odors that I’m too embarrassed to talk about. It really did do an exceptional job.
I also liked the 2-in-1 upholstery tool and 8-foot hose the unit came with. It worked exceptionally well in removing dirt and hair from my sofa, love seat and my stairs. I was quite pleased with it and I feel that it was one of the better upholstery tools of any “pet oriented” carpet cleaner I’ve used so far.
In fact, I loved this carpet cleaner so much that I was tempted to put it closer to the top of my list of best carpet cleaners. And I would’ve too if I hadn’t noticed one big flaw. And that flaw is that this unit left the floors just a little bit too damp. The carpet is supposed to be dry within an hour with this unit, but in my case, it took over twice that amount of time. In my opinion, it just didn’t pick up enough water.
I really wished that I could have given this unit a higher score. After all, it’s lightweight, easy-to-use, cleans well and is great on pet stains. If it just picked up water a little bit better it would’ve been a top contender among carpet cleaners.
