The Dredge Professional Microfiber Mop is a mop that many people were saying was the best mop for hardwood floors, as well as a variety of other floor surfaces. Of course, talk is always cheap, so I decided to get one of these mops and see if it was as good as people were claiming it was. Here is my critique of it.
The first thing that caught my attention was that it was sort of a “kit.” What I mean by that is that it came with the mop handle with mop head, two microfiber pads and a dry electrostatic pad for dusting and such. It looks like just about everything a person would need to start their cleaning – which is exactly what I started doing with it.
One of the things I really like about this mop is its telescopic handle. It could be increased from 29-inches to 61-inches fairly easily. I also liked how this mop felt. The handle felt very good in my hand and the whole thing was fairly lightweight.
The first surface I tried it on was my sealed hardwood floors. And I do have to say it did a great job. It cleaned them up very well. It also did a great job on my vinyl, linoleum and tile floors. On all of these surfaces, it performed above and beyond my expectations.
So why isn’t this mop rated the best of them all? There are 2 reasons why it didn’t rate as high as some other mops on my list. One, it doesn’t have the reach other mops have and two, it’s a little higher priced than comparable mops. All of this contributed to its score.
However, don’t get me wrong, just because it isn’t the top mop of all time, I still think it’s a great mop that does a good job on a variety of different surfaces. It’s a great mop, it’s just not the best.
