How Do Steam Cleaners Work
If there is one thing that I have noticed from reading a ton of steam cleaner reviews on the Internet, it’s that a lot of people know their steam machines do a great job of tackling household tasks, but very few of them realize just how it works. So I’ve decided to rectify that by giving everyone a short little explanation of exactly what a steam cleaner is and just how it works.
Steam cleaners have received a lot of notoriety recently because they effectively clean using nothing more than steam. They can not only handle dirt, grime and grease effectively, but they can also kill microorganisms such as dust mites, bacteria and even viruses. However, these aren’t new devices. They have been around for quite some time in both the United States and Europe and have been used on a commercial level for a lot longer than they have been used in the home.
The whole concept behind a steam cleaner is actually quite simple. This machine takes ordinary water, heats it in its own boiler, and raises it to a temperature of about three hundred degrees Fahrenheit. This causes the water to form a low moisture steam vapor. As it is pumped through the extractors, the temperature of this water will cool down to about two hundred and thirty degrees Fahrenheit.
They are kind of like deep steam cleaners with a few notable exceptions. The first exception is that a deep steam cleaner uses a steam that has a higher moisture content than a regular steam cleaner. Two, vapor cleaners use suction to pick up particles, while a regular steam cleaner doesn’t.
Deep steam cleaners are only used to clean carpets, however. Vapor steam cleaners on the other hand, can be used to clean a variety of surfaces. They can be used on carpets, of course, but they can also be used on tile, grout, upholstery, window sills and panes and even on your car’s interior. In fact, there is a whole list of things you can safely use this device on. And since it uses a steam that has a moisture content of under six percent, which is a lower moisture content than the air we breathe I might add, then you can be sure that it won’t over saturate your carpets or upholstery.
And that my friends, is everything you need to know about steam cleaners. Now that you know how these machines actually work, you can look around for the best steam cleaner tips out there and put this amazing device to work in your home.
