J-2000 Jiffy Canister Garment Steamer
To be honest, when I first saw the J-2000 Jiffy Canister Garment Steamer, I didn’t care much for its design. In fact, I thought it was kind of a funny looking steamer. Of course, when it comes to getting the wrinkles out of your clothes, the look of the machine doesn’t matter in the slightest and that’s proven by the J-2000. It may be funny looking, but it’s the best clothes steamer I’ve seen in quite some time.
This 1300-watt steamer holds approximately three-fourths of a gallon of water and this gives it about an hour and a half of steam time. Which is pretty good. And the steam that comes out of it is powerful enough to get the wrinkles out of just about any type of clothing – even bulky fabrics. It took care of all my fabric steaming needs without a problem.
This unit also feels very durable. It’s made of durable plastic on the outside and has brass heating elements. Which is probably why it’s so heavy, weighing in at about 17 pounds. But its extra weight really didn’t bother me. I was happy just to use a unit that felt durable and not like it was going to break at any moment.
As I tested it out, I noticed that this unit didn’t leak or spit water like some other systems are known to do. From the time it started steaming to the time it finished, it just performed its job without complaint and without a problem.
It also had a 5.5-foot hose that gave me good reach and had a see-through water container that lets you know just how much water is left in the unit. Overall, I felt like this system was the best fabric steamer that I had used in quite awhile. If I had one complaint about it at all, it was that it took two full minutes for the water to heat up to steaming levels.
If you’re looking for a professional garment steamer, then this is the one that you might want to consider. While it might be a bit on the expensive side for some people, I feel that it’s a high-quality unit that will do the job and do it right.
