McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe Canister Steam System Review (Tile & Grout)
It’s probably no surprise that the McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe Canister Steam has made it on another top list. That’s because it really excels at cleaning a variety of different surfaces. This is made possible with its durable construction, all of its accessories and its thoughtful design.
One of the strongest features of this canister steam cleaner is that it comes with 23 very useful accessories. These include: angled and jet nozzles, a large brush, triangular brush, nylon utility brush, brass brush, round brush, round scrub pad, extension wand, mop head and brush, squeegee and scrubbing mop pads. Quite a lot of accessories to tackle those tough cleaning jobs.
Another thing I really like about this unit is that it creates about 2 hours of continuous on-demand steam. And the steam it produces is very hot and under high pressure. That allowed me to really blast between my bathroom tiles and get them sparkling clean. However, there is one drawback to having all of this steam at my disposal. I noticed that with extended use the handle really got warm. Warmer than what I would’ve liked.
Since the McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe is a canister that has a pretty slim profile, I was able to wheel it right into the area where I needed it the most – my bathroom. But even if it hadn’t, I’m confident that I could have still used it to clean my tile because it had an extra long power cord and an extra long hose with extensions that would have made it possible.
Of course, no system is without its flaws and the McCulloch MC1385 Deluxe Canister Steam is no exception. One thing that bothered me about this canister is that it is quite expensive. It is more expensive than the other two steam cleaners on this list – and by quite a lot, too.
I also didn’t like the fact that this steamer was kind of hard to fill. It really should have come with some sort of funnel. I had to go out and buy a funnel in order to keep from spilling a funnel. Not a big deal but something to consider.
However, this unit did do an impressive job of cleaning my tile and grout. I was able to take advantage of the long-lasting pressurized steam and all of the accessories to really clean my grout out. It really did an impressive job.
