Wagner 915 On-Demand Power Steamer and Cleaner Review

When I first used the Wagner 915 on the tile in my bathroom, I really didn’t know how well it was going to perform. I knew it was a 1,500-watt steamer but it looked kind of small and unimposing when I took it out of the packaging and pressed it into service. I wasn’t sure it was capable of getting the job done. Wow, was I wrong.

It produced a hot blast of pressurized steam that really loosened up all of that sticky soap scum that was embedded in the grout in my bathroom. And it had a special nozzle that I could use to really direct that steam exactly where I needed it. It also had quite a few other accessories – 8 in all – which includes a squeegee wand, the aforementioned jet nozzle, two extension wands, a steaming plate and a large cleaning brush. It also includes an eight-foot hose for cleaning large areas.

What I really liked about this system, however, was the on-demand trigger. It was easy to depress and allowed me to decide exactly when steam was released. This unit produced about 45 minutes of continuous steam, which was further extended by me being about to control when the steam was released.

The Wagner 915 was a great system, but what I really didn’t like was that there wasn’t an indicator telling me how much water was left in the unit. As a result, I ran out of water a couple of times and the thermal reset on the machine kicked in, turning it off. I really didn’t like the fact that I basically had to guess when it needed more water.

Another thing that I really didn’t care for was the fact that this system had to reheat the water every so often. However, it wasn’t too big of a deal. When the red light comes on, it is reheating the water. When the green light is on, then you can resume steam cleaning.

All things considered, I thought the Wagner 915 was a great steam machine. It had a couple of design flaws but it really did a good job of cleaning my tile floor and powering away the dirt embedded in my tile grout.
