As far as cleaning upholstery is concerned, the Xtech Electric Easy Handheld Steam Cleaner has a lot of things going for it. It’s light, easy to use and comes with a decent assortment of attachments which include: bent spray nozzle, long spray nozzle, bristle brush, extension hose, window squeegee, and a terrycloth cover. Which is pretty good, after all, I did use the nylon brush to remove fruit punch out of my rug. And it did a perfect job. However, for a machine that is going to be used on upholstery, I would want a few more attachments than what was provided with this unit.
As far as actually cleaning the upholstery on my couch, it did an excellent job. It produces about 20 minutes of actual steam, so it not only cleans but actually sanitizes the upholstery as well. It took a ketchup stain out of my couch – one that was there thanks to my hubby – and it also took an ice cream stain out of my chair. My goodness, you guys must think that I have the messiest household in the world, but I promise you it’s actually pretty clean.
I then decided to take it out to the garage and try it out on our minivan. It did a marvelous job getting the spilled pop and coffee stains out of the seats. Everything I asked it to do it did pretty well. While it might not be in the Top Two of my list for upholstery, I do think that it is a good all-around steamer.
This unit is a little more expensive than the handheld steamers it competes with, but it is cheaper among the ones that do well-cleaning upholstery. Which makes it a decent upholstery steamer but not if you have a large area of fabric to clean.
A decent upholstery steamer but not if you have a large area of fabric to clean
- 20 Minutes Of Steam
- Not Enough Accessories
- Refill Cap is Tricky
